Property：It’s colorless or pale-yellow liquid, miscible with water, slightly soluble in alcohol and ether, not soluble in esters or aromatic solvents. The solution is very unstable place in the air, but never degenerating. Its solution is in the hydrated form, and it is corrosive.

Usage：

1. In the spice industry, it is raw material for production of methyl vanillin, ethyl vanillin.
2. In the pharmaceutical industry, it is the synthesis intermediates for anti-hypertension drugs atenolol, DL-hydroxy phenylglycine, broad-spectrum antibiotics (oral), acetophenone, amino acids and other compounds.
3. It is the intermediate for varnishes raw material, dyes, plastics and agricultural chemicals.
4. It can be used to produce allantoin. Allantoin is the intermediate for anti-ulcer pharmaceutical products and daily chemicals.
